چکیده

The water sorption behavior of a two-phase system of calcium chloride/silica gel composite based on mesoporous and microporous silica gels as host matrices and calcium chloride as a hygroscopic salt was studied. The dielectric properties at microwave frequencies of the composites with different adsorbed water contents were also tested. It is found that the composite exhibits excellent water sorption efficiency. Water sorption increases rapidly with decreasing temperature from 100 1C to 40 1C. The dielectric constant at microwave frequencies can be predicted approximately by using the mixing model developed by Dobson. When the number of bound water molecules is less than 6, the measured data are in good agreement with the calculated results using the constant shape factor a1⁄40.5. However, when the number of bound water molecules is far more than 6, the measured data are close to the calculated results using a1⁄40.65. & 2013 Published by Elsevier B.V.

The Preparation of Porous Sol-Gel Silica with Metal Organic Framework MIL-101(Cr) by Microwave-Assisted Hydrothermal Method for Adsorption Chillers

Abstract: Metal organic framework (MOF) of MIL-101(Cr)-Silica (SiO₂) composites with highly mesoporous and uniform dispersions were synthesized by a microwave-assisted hydrothermal method followed by the sol-gel technique. Water vapor adsorption experiments were conducted on the MIL-101(Cr)-SiO₂ composites for industrial adsorption chiller applications. The effects of MIL-101(Cr)-SiO₂ mixing ra...

اثر کاتالیزور و مقدار آب مرحله هیدرولیز بر خواص فیزیکی ایروژل سیلیکا خشک شده در شرایط فشار محیط

In the present study, silica aerogel was evaluated by a two-step catalytic process at the ambient pressure drying, under different synthesis conditions. The effects of  the catalyst and water content in the hydrolysis step on the physical properties of silica aerogel, including density, porosity and shrinkage, were investigated. The results showed that increasing the water content in the h...

INFLUENCE OF NANO SILICA ON PROPERTIES AND MICROSTRUCTURE OF HIGH ALUMINA ULTRA-LOW CEMENT REFRACTORY CASTABLES

Colloidal silica bonded refractory castables have been developed recently. It was found that colloidal silica is one of the best binders can substitute other binders such as cement in No Cement Castable (NCC) and Ultra Low Cement Castable (ULCC) refractories. Also composition of colloidal silica with appropriate additives resulted in a gel form which makes the initial strength. Moreover, the na...

Preconcentration and Determination of Mefenamic Acid in Pharmaceutical and Biological Fluid Samples by Polymer-grafted Silica Gel Solid-phase Extraction Following High Performance Liquid Chromatography

Abstract Mefenamic acid is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that has analgesic,anti-infammatory and antipyretic actions. It is used to relieve mild to moderate pains. Solid-phase extraction of mefenamic acid by a polymer grafted to silica gel is reported . Poly allyl glycidyl ether/iminodiacetic acid-co-N, N-dimethylacrylamide was synthesized and grafted to silica gel and was used ...
